The 1st day of preschool

As you can tell, our handsome young model is eager for his first day of school! He's sporting a new backpack that's really just a prop for Mommy's photos (but isn't it cute?). Take notice, also, of the fact that he is wearing two shirts. The blue/green one is the one that Mommy thought he should wear (since it favors his complexion) while the black tshirt underneath features dinosaurs and was the one our model picked out himself. A compromise of sorts (?) was reached when the young model decided to wear both. His reptile shoes, which he refers to as his "snake shoes," are from Striderite, and promise to carry him wherever he goes...

In closing, we have a slightly dirtier version of this morning's cute model after his first day (four hours, really) of school. Notice that the green shirt has disappeared, the curls are saturated with sweat from playing on the playground, and the face shows just a touch of fatigue. If you look closely, there's also some sticky remnants from lunch. All in all, though, I think he had a good time. : )

Oh, he is so cute Joanna! I love your explanation for the two shirts and the snake shoes are hilarious. It's amazing the difference between the before and after school photos. Looks like it whipped his rear, LOL :)

About Us
Hi! I'm Joanna, author of this journal. My husband Mark and I are photographers in Asheville, North Carolina. Most recently we collaborated on a 12 week beginner photography course, the contents of which you can find
    • here.
    • The name of our company, Tuesday's Frog, is based on an almost wordless children's book about frogs that go flying on lily pads one night. We love it because it tells a story in pictures. Cole & Harper are our children, and frequent (though not always willing) photography subjects. So here you'll find not only the story of our lives, but of those we've photographed as well. We'd love to tell your story, too!
