ode to Seuss

Also wrote a little Seuss-ish diddy (which any children's book editor will tell you is a BIG no-no if you're thinking about submitting a story -- but this is a layout and I feel like living vicariously...oh, I know, I'm so daring! ha!)

There once was a boy
who tried to be coy
and sneak up on some birds.
The birds cried, "absurd!"
and refused to be lured
because they were on to his ploy.

How does everyone know that today is Dr. Seuss' birthday? My son came home from pre-school today with a homemade paper hat from "Cat in the Hat". They celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday in school.

I love Suess...he was born here in my home town and we have the greatest park dedicated to hime and we have these yummy green eggs and ham's events for the kids!
