puppies

Have you met Harper's puppies?
They are referred to by us as little puppy, middle puppy, and big puppy.
Harper refers to them each as either "puppppy" or "baby."
I don't know how she keeps track, but she does seem to alternate her attention between the three of them.
I made the mistake of throwing middle puppy down the other morning because stuffed animals are not allowed at the breakfast table. Bad, bad mommy. Harper pushed her chair away from the table and refused to eat.
(I don't think she realizes how traumatic it would be if any of the puppies had to be washed!)
Harper loves real dogs, too, but unfortunately Cole is severely allergic to them. I can just hear the arguments we'll have over this issue in the future.
The other day at Cracker Barrel we were unloading the kids from the van when a car pulled up beside us containing a couple and their dog. After spotting the dog, Harper leaned over and out of Mark's arms in order to give the lady a hug....because she owned a dog.

Love the puppies! The pic of Harper's curly little head is adorable. Good luck on the puppy washing. We have to distract Miss Anna while I put puppy in the pillowcase in into the washer.

    So adorable...

You could always get a Labradoodle..I understand that they are cute as can be, have the easy-going and playful nature of a Labrador and the hypo-alergenic fur of a poodle. But I won't tell Harper that such a thing exists if you just don't want a puppy...tee hee!

And besides, I think that the stuffed ones are ever so much easier to care for!!!

Isn't it so funny what they get attached to? Stewart refuses to leave his bed with "bear".

We have the same thing at our house, only it is a monkey and a bear from Build-a-bear. Carmen and Beary. I wash the "babies" when she goes to sleep. So, when she wakes up in the morning, they are right there back in bed with her!

    sweet sweet harper.
I am, however, on Cole's side of this particular argument.
    Stuffed puppies don't smell anyway.

awwww .... !!! i wonder if it's a "harper" thing ... puppies are all the rage around here, too. crazy. there are four different versions of dogs in the crib at all times, and if even one is missing, harp goes nuts wondering where the "aye aye" (ie "arf arf") is. funny li'l girls!

About Us
Hi! I'm Joanna, author of this journal. My husband Mark and I are photographers in Asheville, North Carolina. Most recently we collaborated on a 12 week beginner photography course, the contents of which you can find
    • here.
    • The name of our company, Tuesday's Frog, is based on an almost wordless children's book about frogs that go flying on lily pads one night. We love it because it tells a story in pictures. Cole & Harper are our children, and frequent (though not always willing) photography subjects. So here you'll find not only the story of our lives, but of those we've photographed as well. We'd love to tell your story, too!
