Around the House
This weekend we were able to finish up some more painting to officially call the main floor "done!" (Except for some metallic tile that we need to put in the kitchen...but for the most part, the main floor is done!)
Thanks to our helpful realtor who was able to email me the photos of what our house looked like while it was on the market I thought I'd show you a few before & after shots.

First up is the living room.
The "before" shot is taken as if you're standing in the breakfast area, facing the front door.
The "after" shot is taken as if you've just walked in the front door. That lovely beige (paint-sucking) color you see in the before shots was throughout the house. So in the living room we painted a few walls dark gray and a few walls light gray, with red accents throughout.

Here are three of my favorite things:
A retro red telephone from Pottery Barn.
Three cute little cups from little flower designs.
A few of our favorite coffee table books (travel, weddings, photography).

(You'll notice that most of the decorative stuff in the living room is placed HIGH to keep it away from little hands.)

Anyway, on to the kitchen.
We replaced the white appliances and painted the walls the same light gray as the living room. As I mentioned, you'll just have to pretend that there's a silver metallic backsplash between the microwave and stove at this point.
Off to the side of the kitchen is a half-bath which we painted Hershey's chocolate brown. It's scrumptious!
So that's our weekend round-up, also known as "what we were able to accomplish before the kids returned pasty, pale & puking." (I do believe it's my payback for having a free day on Friday.)

    The house looks great. Everything is so well done. I absolutly love the floors.

    I don't know what it is about kids right now. My kids and a lot of my frineds have sick kids too. I hope it passes quickly.

    Beautiful! I love the before and after - makes a big difference! So sorry that your children are sick. :( My oldest is sick as well; I'm trying very hard to keep it away from my 4 week old - but it's proving to be very challenging. Hope they feel better soon - and ya'll avoid it!

    we have similar taste...hehe. i painted our bathroom that color too! we have gray in our hall with red accents too. And I have that phone..in black. hehe. Beautiful house....hope the kids are better soon.
