Good Friday
We celebrated the first day of Spring yesterday with a dumpload of fresh, steaming mulch for our flower beds. Needless to say, I'm a little bit sore on this second day of Spring.

And here it is Good Friday already!
Mark is home today so we started the morning with a little egg dyeing.

I love the concentration here!

Success!

You can just see how exciting Harper found the whole process. I especially like the speck of red dye on her forehead -- the result of "plunking" her eggs into the cups quite forcefully.

The yellow aprons were in a car painting kit from Target - I'm glad I saved them because they were quite useful today!

The finished product. You can't really tell from this photo but we did create a few striped photos following these directions from Real Simple. (We like to keep things simple around here!)

Finally, I'll leave you with a drawing Cole did a few weeks ago. Appropriate subject matter on this Good Friday! The smiling figures are angels in the sky, and the soldiers are all marked with an "S" of course.

Thank goodness He rose again for us!
Happy Easter, everyone!

Don't you just love a truckload of fresh mulch? That is one of many favorite Spring activities around our house.
Love the photos and amazed at Cole's art talent.

amen! Cole's picture is amazing! Johnny has still not gotten the concept of drawing bodies on people....or arms, for that matter!
I boiled the eggs and we are ready to go later!
    Happy Easter Joanna!

What a wonderful, fun day and Cole's drawing brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful that he is learning about Jesus and what He did for us. Thanks for making my Easter!

He is risen! He is risen indeed! Love how our 6 and 7 year olds understand Easter, too. Last year, it took quite a lot to convince our then 6-year old son that the sky wasn't going to get all dark and rumble on Good Friday again. That we remember Jesus' death on Easter like we remember His birthday on Christmas--not that it's happening again!

About Us
Hi! I'm Joanna, author of this journal. My husband Mark and I are photographers in Asheville, North Carolina. Most recently we collaborated on a 12 week beginner photography course, the contents of which you can find
    • here.
    • The name of our company, Tuesday's Frog, is based on an almost wordless children's book about frogs that go flying on lily pads one night. We love it because it tells a story in pictures. Cole & Harper are our children, and frequent (though not always willing) photography subjects. So here you'll find not only the story of our lives, but of those we've photographed as well. We'd love to tell your story, too!
