We added a new piece of Southern folk art to our collection recently (I can call it a “collection” now that we have two pieces.) This piece by Chris Milk Hulburt, titled “Pink Morning Sky,” reminds me of our daily commute to school, because the best days are those with a pretty pink sunrise. After unwrapping the artwork I showed it to the kids, and it was fun to witness their initial reactions and hear their thoughts about the piece as well. They gave it their stamp of approval.

It just seems fitting that we have a little milk to go along with our cornbread now!
