seven
Harper is seven months old today! She may not have been chosen for Regis and Kelly's beautiful baby contest, but she will always get our vote!

This past month has been full of milestones for her: jumping in her play seat, chasing and chomping cheerios, talking (sometimes coherently!), sitting up very well, and more I can't think of right now. In addition to doing she's growing like crazy. I was looking at how long her legs and torso were today. Where'd our baby go already? Oh -- remember how I said she wasn't rolling over? Well, apparently she didn't appreciate that comment very much, because she was making a royal fuss in her bed one night last week. I finally went in to check on her and there she was on her tummy, (she sleeps on her back), smiling brightly and as proud she could be. Now I can understand her desire for us to be excited, considering how much we've been encouraging her to roll over for the past few months, but the fact that she wanted to celebrate in her crib from 3-4 am was really not what the rest of us had in mind. The next morning three of us were walking around bleary-eyed while one little stinker decided she needed to sleep in until 9 am. Guess who that was? So anyway, I learned my lesson. No more mentioning what she's not doing.

inspired
Looooooove this new piece of artwork courtesy of Aaron! The colors make me happy.

I took a close-up of it so you could see the texture (paper on canvas) as well as the picture of a little girl, which is one of my favorite parts besides the mix of colors.

PS. You can see more of Aaron's work here.

the rest of the story
Here's your creative writing prompt for today.

I noticed this semi trailer a few weeks ago, and just had to go back and take a photo of it yesterday (hopefully I wasn't trespassing!) What do you suppose is the story behind this declaration of spurned love painted on the side of a semi trailer?

love these two

love documenting their lives.
love watching from behind the lens as the interaction unfolds.
love that they get along right now!
but you already knew that...

Aaron & Shannon

Just a note on this last one...aren't they adorable? That's all the Tuckers squished together on a teeny platform so we could take their photo. Although Aaron was pretty strongly opposed to "posed" photos we did manage to convince him to take this one with his family. You should have seen his mom scramble when he told her the good news! She had 'em all rounded up in less than a minute, I think. So this one's for Aaron's mom. : )

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We are off to run errands this morning to clear the way for my Valentine's Day present. Cole has his light saber and backpack, so I guess he's ready to go (though he might need some clothes, too!).

Be Mine
First of all, thank you so, sooooo much for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Mark read through all the comments and was very touched, as was I. We sincerely appreciate you!!

Secondly, I thought I'd share a photo from a failed pre-Valentine's Day photo shoot the other day. It didn't turn out the way I'd planned, but I still like it. : )

PS. The blob in the front that says "be mine" is a red heart pillow from Target. It makes a great prop, though Harper likes to drool all over it....

Enjoy your day!

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

When your 3-year-old makes the connection between what he's seeing in the viewfinder and the shutter release, you're really in trouble! Especially when he turns the camera on YOU! Thank goodness for small memory cards that fill up quickly...
