| Poppies |
Happy Friday! I wrote that phrase in an email on Wednesday night around midnight, then woke up the next morning thinking, "Hang on - it's not Friday yet!" But NOW it is! Obviously, I should not write emails at midnight. Enjoy the weekend!Labels: summer |

| Paxton & Beth | June 14th, 2008 |
One of the things I love about photographing weddings is that each wedding is different. Granted, they tend to follow the same order of the day, and we did hear the song "Carolina Girls" about 500 times last year. But, case in point, Paxton & Beth were married at Lake Eden last Saturday, which is the same place where Rob & Denise exchanged vows the week previously. But even though the weddings were in the same location, they were completely different. I love that. I love how each wedding is unique based on the couple's individual personality, style, and choices. Here's a glimpse of Beth & Paxton's day.
And yes, sometimes we do repeat ourselves, too, but this photo makes me smile!

 I love happy kisses!

See this cake? It looks innocent enough, doesn't it....
 ...but not for long!
An inside & outside view for you -- this wedding was coordinated by Jennifer King of Verge Events.

And finally, a late-night kiss before heading off on their honeymoon.Labels: Asheville wedding photography |

| in keeping with the summertime theme... |
A sweet note fluttered in late last week from Megan & Garrett.
Dear Joanna & Mark, Thank you so very much for being the best photographers in the world! Your pictures captured exactly what we wanted to remember of our special day. When I first saw our pictures while on our honeymoon I cried. Every time I look at them now it still brings a tear to my eye to see the emotions, and memories you were able to capture for Garrett and I to relive for the rest of our lives... I remember looking down at the dance floor during the reception and seeing Joanna crawling across the floor to get a shot of Hyper. I knew when I first saw your pictures in January '06 that you were my first choice for photographers. Thank you so much for helping that dream come true.Labels: thanks |

| happy things this Friday |

Mini carnations blooming in the garden and a thank you note in the mail from Michelle & Stephen: We can't thank you enough for the AMAZING wedding pictures. You both were so wonderful to work with and you made the day so much fun!!!!
New sandals from jcrew (polka dots AND a paisley pattern -- all on one shoe!) and an early afternoon rain shower to help cool things off around here. (Please note - rain showers are not acceptable tomorrow around 5pm.)Labels: thanks |

| Trouble with a capital "T" |

These two rascals caused lots of trouble for their Aunt Kristina on Saturday while Mark & I were at a wedding...so they're on probation this week. Although it's not really that torturous of a sentence, considering we're also spending our mornings at a day camp at the Nature Center this week. (By the by, they're celebrating the "Year of the Frog" there in 2008, which I thought was quite apropos!) Today was bird day so we met Art the Owl (a real live bird, Mommy!) and made all kinds of fun crafts including pinecone bird feeders that are currently hanging off our back deck. It should be a fun week, but let's alllll hope the little darlings get their privileges restored before we head to the beach for a few days next week, because heaven knows 6 hours in a car is not fun if you're not allowed to watch a few movies on the way. |
