Rebecca & Kenton | June 21st, 2008

Kenton & Rebecca opted for to see each other before the wedding.

After a few minutes alone they indulged us with a few photos before being whisked away downtown.

The wedding & reception were held at On Broadway, and were coordinated by Emily McCollin from Occasions by Emily. Rebecca & the bridesmaids in waiting...

...and a little detail during the ceremony.

The best part about being downtown? Alleyways and streets, of course!

(And courteous traffic -- we thank you!)

Of course you must kiss on the street!

A parting shot from the first dance.

Henry & Elliott

This one said he was a rockstar...

...and he had the moves to prove it!

This one was simply irresistible...

...even if he was more interested in sticks and leaves and eating mulch.

Busy as a...

These little dudes sure have been busy!
So glad they're here to pollinate our world, though!

Poppies

Happy Friday!
I wrote that phrase in an email on Wednesday night around midnight, then woke up the next morning thinking, "Hang on - it's not Friday yet!" But NOW it is!
Obviously, I should not write emails at midnight. Enjoy the weekend!

Paxton & Beth | June 14th, 2008
One of the things I love about photographing weddings is that each wedding is different. Granted, they tend to follow the same order of the day, and we did hear the song "Carolina Girls" about 500 times last year. But, case in point, Paxton & Beth were married at Lake Eden last Saturday, which is the same place where Rob & Denise exchanged vows the week previously. But even though the weddings were in the same location, they were completely different. I love that. I love how each wedding is unique based on the couple's individual personality, style, and choices. Here's a glimpse of Beth & Paxton's day.

And yes, sometimes we do repeat ourselves, too, but this photo makes me smile!

I love happy kisses!

See this cake? It looks innocent enough, doesn't it....

...but not for long!

An inside & outside view for you -- this wedding was coordinated by Jennifer King of Verge Events.

And finally, a late-night kiss before heading off on their honeymoon.

in keeping with the summertime theme...

A sweet note fluttered in late last week from Megan & Garrett.

Dear Joanna & Mark,
Thank you so very much for being the best photographers in the world! Your pictures captured exactly what we wanted to remember of our special day. When I first saw our pictures while on our honeymoon I cried. Every time I look at them now it still brings a tear to my eye to see the emotions, and memories you were able to capture for Garrett and I to relive for the rest of our lives... I remember looking down at the dance floor during the reception and seeing Joanna crawling across the floor to get a shot of Hyper. I knew when I first saw your pictures in January '06 that you were my first choice for photographers. Thank you so much for helping that dream come true.

almost summer!

After two weeks of running around the kids & I were so happy to just hang out in our front yard this morning.

Our 3-season cutting garden is proving to be a good purchase!

I'm so proud of this little guy (I say little but he's like a foot shorter than me, okay, maybe 18 inches) because he's learning to ride his bike without training wheels! Love the tongue sticking out - a sign of true determination.

And this one...well, she's going to be 3 next month. Need I say more?

Denise & Rob | 06.07.08

Denise made her own dress! I especially loved the buttons down the back and the flare at the bottom.

Maybe, possibly, just a little bit nervous...right, Rob?

Guess who else was a little nervous - the very adorable (I mean handsome) ring bearer. He took his job very seriously.

A little close-up during the ceremony.

Oh-so-happy now!

After the ceremony the veil came off and the boots went on...

...just in time for lots & lots of terrific dancing.

happy things this Friday

Mini carnations blooming in the garden and a thank you note in the mail from Michelle & Stephen: We can't thank you enough for the AMAZING wedding pictures. You both were so wonderful to work with and you made the day so much fun!!!!

New sandals from jcrew (polka dots AND a paisley pattern -- all on one shoe!) and an early afternoon rain shower to help cool things off around here. (Please note - rain showers are not acceptable tomorrow around 5pm.)

Tom & Libby | May 31st, 2008

Meet Libby...

...and Tom.

On the last day of May they met in the garden at Richmond Hill Inn and exchanged vows in front of their family and friends, surrounded by dogwoods, poppies, a few butterflies, and bouquets of lilacs that matched the bridesmaids oh-so-well.

After some kissing...(a scalloped veil - oh my!)

...and cake (they like their cake)...

...they returned outside to dance the evening away. Such a simply lovely way to say "I do!"

Trouble with a capital "T"

These two rascals caused lots of trouble for their Aunt Kristina on Saturday while Mark & I were at a wedding...so they're on probation this week. Although it's not really that torturous of a sentence, considering we're also spending our mornings at a day camp at the Nature Center this week. (By the by, they're celebrating the "Year of the Frog" there in 2008, which I thought was quite apropos!) Today was bird day so we met Art the Owl (a real live bird, Mommy!) and made all kinds of fun crafts including pinecone bird feeders that are currently hanging off our back deck. It should be a fun week, but let's alllll hope the little darlings get their privileges restored before we head to the beach for a few days next week, because heaven knows 6 hours in a car is not fun if you're not allowed to watch a few movies on the way.
