Happy 1st Anniversary, Ashlyn & Kevin! It was such a pleasure to work with the 2 of you last year!

Leslie’s bouquet was a mix of peonies, poppies, and ranunculuses – it smelled so good! I love the burst of color in the bridesmaids’ bouquets! Florals by Stacey from The Bloom Room.

Leslie & Josh had a great day for their wedding this past Saturday – not too hot, not too cold, not too bright, just perfect!

Take note, future Claxton Farm brides — they’ve built a little house for you to get ready in instead of the tent they’d provided previously at the Farm! It has nice light, a view of the barn, cute window treatments, and two mirrors for all your preparation needs as you wait for the ceremony to begin…

Speaking of, here’s Leslie waiting for her signal…

…while Josh was off playing horseshoes. (Okay, not really…)

In actuality, Leslie didn’t have to wait that long…can you guess who she’s looking at right now?

Love that sideways grin!

A beautiful day…

…with just a slight breeze.

A few tears…

…and heaps of happiness and laughter.

After the ceremony we wandered around the Farm for portraits.

Josh & Leslie were great at wandering, and twirling…

…and were just SO happy to be together.

Love the sun setting on a blue sky day!

Note that the sign in the upper right-hand corner says “Do not feed the animals.”

Apparently because the animals are capable of feeding themselves…and there went Josh’s boutonniere.

The first dance…

Josh also happens to be a musician, and played a few songs with the band.
I thought his shiny new ring was the perfect accent for the guitar.

The cake cutting started innocently enough…

…and you can probably guess what happened! (Don’t even look at us, Josh, you know you started it!)

Josh & Leslie had many younger guests in attendance at the wedding…it was fun watching them all in action.

Mmmm…good cupcakes.

Siblings, if you couldn’t tell!

A little spotlight flare as the evening wore down…

….last dances, hugs goodbye, a departure amidst bubbles & balloons…

….all in all, a perfect day.
Sigh….how I love a beautiful wedding. This one had it all – a sweet, emotional couple, a beautiful setting, perfect light, and wonderful event staff. It was just the absolute right combination of elements for a wedding day. Combine that with the fact that this was the first wedding after our August break, and well, you’re going to see a lot of photos!

Location was very important to Ashlyn & Kevin. You can see that reflected not only in Kevin’s custom-made map cufflinks, but also in the fact that they chose Asheville, (and specifically, Claxton Farm) for their wedding day celebration. They, and their family and friends, came from all across the country just for this event!

Ashlyn took a last-minute survey of everything before putting her dress on at the Farm. Here she is with her vibrant bouquet, courtesy of Janet over at the Enchanted Florist.

Personally, I love a windswept veil, and Ashlyn’s veil definitely had a mind of its own!

A hug from dad right before the ceremony…

…a little flower lovin’ for the goats from the flower girl…
The setting was truly gorgeous!

…and a jumping shot, just for Ashlyn!

After dinner they danced under the light of the moon to a blue grass band.
